Body Images Around The World
We welcome ASU Professor Dr. Cindi Sturtz Sreetharan to share with us her area of study on body images around the world (Japan, Paraguay, Samoa and the US). She will discuss how the language around body images spurs social action especially with fat stigmatizing. Her work focuses on the data collected from people talking about their bodies, food and fat. Everyday language can do social harm or bring about social healing. Join us as we dive into the topic of our bodies and how different cultures experience the bodies God gave them.
