Passionate for Justice, Ida B. Wells as Prophet For Our Time
by Dr. Catherine Meeks and Pastor Nibs Stroupe
This book discussion will focus on Chapter(s) 1, 2 and 5. These chapters deal most directly with the life of Ida B. Wells and the questions for further reflection at the end of these chapters direct us to a deeper conversation on the role of black women in the women’s suffrage movement. And, the role of black women historically in the black churches. It is from the fellowship halls of their church that they organize and from the heart of their churches that they persevere. This phenomenon exists today and plays an important role in current politics. Join us!
