The 2021 Tokyo Olympics kicked off this summer amid a relentless stream of bad news. In part, the gloom is a product of global circumstances with the latest COVID Delta Variant, plus, many scandalous stories overshadowed the event’s launch. Join your friends of the Leadership and Dialogue Academy as we host our first workshop of the program year. We’ll discuss stories of the Olympics like Sha’Carri Richardson’s lost spot as the fastest woman in the world and more. Come pick your position and bring your friends - all are welcome!

DEBATING THE DEATH PENALTY | LED BY LDA STUDENT AMBASSADORS

All incoming - graduated high school students are invited to join us for our third Leadership and Dialogue Academy (LDA) Workshop on the death penalty. Under the guidance of LDA Director Katie Rosenson, the evening will be led by our LDA Student Ambassadors: Caroline Johnson, Eliza Punches, and Joe Sidoti. These students have worked very hard to craft a fun, engaging, and challenging workshop in which high school students will consider why they believe what they believe as they practice important communication skills like active listening. Pizza will be provided.

All students in 9 - 12th grade are invited to join us for our second Leadership and Dialogue Academy (LDA) Workshop as we engage in a courageous conversation about politics. Guided by LDA Director Katie Rosenson, students will reflect on how they feel about recent events and consider the following questions: How do we decide what we believe and how do we express those beliefs to others? All voices are welcome as we learn from one another.

CHAOS AND CHALLENGES OF 2020 | LED BY DR. ALLEN HILTON
NOVEMBER 8, 2020
| 5:45 - 7:00 PM

All students in 9 - 12th grade are invited to join Dr. Hilton, founder of House United, as he leads our youth through a courageous conversation about friendship, faith, and politics. He will navigate the students to find their voices, put their feelings into words, and learn to lovingly disagree. This community-wide event is intended to bring youth together in a safe environment. Dinner will be provided.
